Singapore report 2019(Asian Board Game Festival and GameStart Asia)

I've returned from the Asian trip. I visited Singapore, Indonesia, and China.

Now, I will report on my Singapore trip and two events there - Asian Board Game Festival and GameStart Asia.

I joined Asian Board Game Festival on 11th October.

Singaporean new publisher Origame hosted the event.
In this event, Asian publishers gathered and demonstrated their games.
The following are participating publishers.

  • Origame(Singapore)
  • Taiwan Boardgame Design(Taiwan)
  • Board Game Academy(Thailand)
  • Saashi & Saashi(Japan)

And there was an interactive game/art installation by French/Taiwanese designers Romain et Anthony.

Chope(Origame)

The blend of dexterity game and push-your-luck game.
Players compete for speed to reserve tables. And they take dishes by the push-your-luck system. Players get points by the combination of tables and dished.

Mooncake Master(Origame)

Players make mooncakes.
The player receives 3 tiles each, gets 1 and passes the rest to both sides. Repeat this 4 times to make 3 moon cakes with 12 tiles. The player scores according to the perfection of the moon cake and the customer's request.

Coffee Shop(Thailand)

A bidding game.
There are two kinds of bidding in this game. Ingredients and customers.
Purchase ingredients to make drinks and serve them to customers. If two or more players want to serve the same customer, the player who offers the least price does.

Lotto(Thailand)

In Thailand, there are so many lotteries. This game is a satire on this situation.
Players are lottery masters and predict the prize number.
Place 1 Lotto card face-up at the center. then everyone makes a stack that satisfies the condition of the revealed Lotto card as soon as possible.

In Asian Board Game Festival,  I was able to play a rare board game in Thailand. That was a good experience.

On 12th October, I joined GameStart Asia.

Unlike last year, there were no miniature game booths, but there were also many board game booths this time.

Catventure Card Game.
The expansion and fan goods were added.

Saashi & Saashi booth.

Dungeons & Dragons booth.

Throw Throw Burrito booth.
A room surrounded by acrylic plates was set up to throw the burrito.

Kaiju Exchange(Singapore)

A negotiation game with the theme of international trade.
Players produce and trade goods to meet domestic and global demand.

I left Singapore on the 12th night and went to Indonesia. I will report on Indonesia and China in further articles.
