Shanghai BGM 2019 report

I went to Shanghai and joined the Shanghai BGM(Board Game Market)（桌游展） this October.

This convention was held as a part of China Toy Expo（中国玩具展） and China Kids Fun Expo（中国玩博会）.

The organizer is a Chinese board game magazine Zhuoyouzhi（桌游志）.

Yoka Games（游卡桌游） is the largest board game publisher in China. It grew with "Legends of the Three Kingdoms（三国杀）" which is infamous as a copycat of "Bang!". However, now it is selling other original games and overseas games and trying to dispel a bad reputation.

There were many booths and experience places. Some Taiwanese publishers participated.

Glyph Chess

An abstract strategy game based on a Chinese comic book Tales of Tarsylia（塔希里亚故事集）. 

All pieces have special abilities. Players can use these abilities by consuming coins or dice.

Legends of the WuLin（武林风云录）

Wuxia（武侠） adventure game. Players take on the role of Wuxia heroes. Players explore the field, complete quests, and fight against rivals. You can enjoy the wuxia world with this game.

Garbage Classification（分了把）

An educational game on garbage classification. 

Players classify garbages and put them into garbage cans. Players can learn about garbage classification with this game.

In Shanghai BGM, Super Chinese Board Game Award winners are announced. Qinqi Strategy（秦棋攻略） won the Best Chinese Original Game award.

And Yoka Games started WODC(World Original Design Contest) invitation. The game won in this contest will be commercialized by Yoka Games.

Legends of the Three Kingdoms tournament. It is still popular after more than ten years after appearance.
